MISSIONS

During the last four years we have constantly met children who live in very harsh conditions and which get worse year after year.

Our goal is to provide Syrian children with the certainty of having food and water, medical care and shelter from the cold.

We go there personally to distribute food, blankets, clothes and medical care. A doctor always accompanies us.

SMALL SCHOOL AT THE REFUGEES CAMP IN TURCHEY – October 22nd 2019

Situation Turkey hosts the largest number of Syrian refugees who fled from their country at the beginning of the war. The region of Adana hosts one of those […]

MISSION IN TURKEY – September 2019

I write about this mission only three months after. I don’t know if this is good or not. Emotions settle down and change, but never leave you. It’s six years now that I (Arianna) go back and forth to the camps and sometimes I don’t know which direction to take in my life. Still I […]

MISSION IN TURKEY – August 2019

The mission in August is very particular and “full”. We have more time to think and go deep. This time Lidia is our only volunteer and she goes to the camp together with a friend of her. For an entire week they stay close to the border hosted by Majad (The Sons of War), who […]

MISSION IN TURKEY – July 2019

This mission is particularly important for us: we will not only provide medical aid and food packs, but we will also try to census all the children. In the camp there are more than a thousand children. More than a hundred are orphans of one or both parents. We want to census the orphans first, […]

SUPPORTING FAMILIES IN KILIS

In May 2019 we started supporting 21 families who live in Kilis, close to the Turkish/Syrian border. They have been selected amongst the most vulnerable and helpless. The families are usually made of orphans, invalid parents or disabled children, and they can barely survive. The project is based on the support of Italian donors who […]

MISSION IN TURKEY – May 2019

The weather is warm when we leave Italy. When we arrive in Turkey it is a lot warmer. This is positive, since it means that children have come through another winter in rough conditions. The sixth since we met them.   In Adana, every evening, we meet the interpreter who supports us in all our […]

Mission Moria and Turkey February 2019

The Camp in Moria is the Hell on Earth. During our missions we have seen lots of camps but the atosphere in Moria is devastating. Nowere we have met the exasperation seen here. The families living there do not communicate, there is no mutual aid, and some people suffer because of mental disease. Maybe these […]

MISSION IN TURKEY – March 2019

For the first time we won’t go to the refugee camp that we have supported during the past years. We will meet two contact persons in Gaziantep camp, in order to give solid ground to our future activities. We will then move to Kilis, where we intend to run a project to support families facing […]

Mission January 2019 Iraq

The journey from Italy to Erbil (Iraq) is always very hard, due to the schedules and length. We are three: myself, Arianna, Andrea Palmucci (the phhotographer), and Marino Andolini (the doctor). All of us are prepared for little sleep and tiredness. After weeks of never-ending contacts and visas that seemed never to come we are [...]

Mission Moria – November 2018

A lot has been said about the Moira refugee camp in Lesbo Island (Greece). There are photoreports, reportages and not to forget some bitter disputes. Here, we would like to give a human scale significance to what we have seen and what we have been able to do during our visit there. We are a […]

Mission Turkey – October 2018

LIFE AT THE CAMP Yet another departure for another mission! I don't number them any longer, but I don't blur any of them and I don't forget any emotion they aroused . We left at dead of night to stay longer in the camp, already tired and worried, as usual. When you leave you bring [...]

Mission Turkey – June 2018

We already know that the missions at the Syrian border are always dangerous and difficult to plan. We need to set up things from Italy with the help of people and associations on  site as for  our safety and the distribution of food and first aid supplies. When we leave we already are aware that […]

Mission March 2018 -Turkey

BEYOND THE BORDER  –   Travel diary – by Lidia Boncoraglio MARCH 2018 The departure is always a moment full of emotions. The division of weight seems to be like an easy thing but   it consists of 120 kilos of food, clothing and games. Then we must try to plan everything though we are aware that […]

Mission June 2017 – Jordan

In the heat of May 2017, we were able to bring humanitarian aid to Jordan in the refugee camps of Al Mafraq, on the outskirts of Amman and finally to Zaatari. A total of 191 families were counted in poverty and discomfort.   This time with us came Dr. Andolina who for years has been [...]

MISSION OCTOBER 2016 – TURKEY

“ARE THEY OURS? ” “ARE THEY MATTRESSES?” “BUT CAN WE KEEP THEM?” “AND CAN WE CHOOSE THE COLOUR?” “I, I, I WANT TO CARRY IT AND I WANT TO SHOW IT TO MY MUM!” “CAN I TAKE THE ONE WITH FLOWERS, THAT PINK ONE? AND MY SISTER THAT GREEN ONE, NO BLUE, NO SHE WANTS […]

MISSION AUGUST 2016 – JORDAN – SCHOOL MATERIAL DISTRIBUTION

How beautiful normality is! Wake up in the morning, hug mum and dad, be scolded because you are late and go to school. Going to school. Those lucky ones who can still embrace their mother and their father have had to renounce going to school for several years: which parent would send their child to [...]

MISSION JULY 2016 – TURKEY

Here is a brief account of the recently completed mission in July 2016 in the refugee camps which our volunteers have just visited. We report the food distribution, the distribution of stationery and the ‘twinning’ with some children in a Calabrian school who sent drawings and messages to their less fortunate peers.   Food Distribution […]

MISSION OCTOBER 2015 – TURKEY

The beginning of each mission sees the pharmacy and the supermarket as the first stops. The employees and cashiers know who we are, they know why we are there and like every time, even this one, we came out with a huge amount of shopping that required 5 trolleys to be transported: 100 kg flour, [...]

Mission August 2015 – Turkey
