Although these people are proven by hunger, thirst and disease (as well as the psychological suffering caused by their condition), as always they have been welcoming and kind to us. Not only did they share the little food they had with us, but we shared smiles, emotions, cries and hugs.
Once back, it’s really painful to think about those people. We cannot explain how it is possible that a few kilometers from us there are hundreds of children who are suffering, traumatized, hungry and sometimes completely alone. Despite this, however, we will not get discouraged. Instead, we will continue to fight to ensure that even these children, these people, have a dignified life. Beyond the precious school of Mafraq, we will try to build a house that hosts orphans and mothers in need.
